Abstract:
In this presentation, I will review the soil erosion analysis in NRI. Universal Soil Loss Equation is a model that predicts the long term average annual rate of erosion on a field. It is replaced by the newly released RUSLE2 model. USLE is used until year 2007 and RUSLE2 starts from year 2004. To estimate long term soil erosion trend and maintain consistency as an input to other models, it is necessary to impute USLE estimations after 2007. I will discuss the modeling approach of predicting USLE for 2008-2012 from RUSLE2 and some USLE permanent variables. Some results and known issues will also be shown in this talk.
